Valley of the Dolls is one of my all time favorite movies. Neely O'Hara - I'm sorry, "NEEEELY O'HAAAARA!!!" - is scrappy starlet who boozes up her pills to "make them work faster." Sharon Tate's blond locks gave hands down the film's best performance. She was gorgeous. I hate you, Charles Manson. And Barbara Perkins's Anne has a Pretty Woman-esque moment when she's "discovered" as a simple secretary and transformed into glamorous model of beauty products. Queue the over-the-top montage of slow-motion hairspray clouds. I tried finding that video to post, but it was un-embeddable. Boo. Here's the trailer anyway:
I mean what's not to love?

The Hair Hall of Fame - Blog
I just recently joined the Blogspot family and on my journey I came across The Hair Hall of Fame Blog. Can I just say, I'm in love? Keywords include "dark roots" and "curlers on your head." I lifted an image or two of Elke Sommer for my website. It's like someone decided to make a blog for one reader: me. Go over and say hi. And put in a good word for me. I'm new here and want to make some new friends.
Gay Lynn
Earlier this week I got a call from panic-stricken makeup artist who was unable to work her dear friend's wedding because she was ill. The wedding was only a few days away. So I made the call to the bride, Gay Lynn, and she booked everything right over the phone. The trial run, the wedding, even a trim and highlight, all without meeting face to face.
Well, I'm so glad I was able to help. Gay Lynn was so sweet and had such hilarious stories. She entertained me all the way through her last-minute trial run. Her bridesmaids were a blast, hooting and hollering the entire wedding day. In spite of having to scramble at the eleventh hour of her wedding planning, Gay Lynn was considerate, good-natured, and a pleasure to work with.

Rachel is an absolute DOLL! We met a few days before my wedding-did a cut, color, and trial run w/hair and make up all in one evening!! Of course, we were all running late the day of the wedding -Rachel did hair and make up for six of us! She is so easy to work with and sooo much fun! She just jumped in “feet first” having no idea how the girls would want their hair or make up! I felt like a princess on my wedding day-and all my bridesmaids loved their hair and make up as well. Thank you Rachel-for saving the day! xoxoxoxo"

Jessica
Last week I had the pleasure of attending - and working - my dear friend, Jessica's wedding to upstanding beau, Ramzey. They had a small, quiet ceremony and party with close family and friends. Jess didn't really plan much; some flowers, some yummy food from Curra's, who also did my Rehearsal Dinner, and gorgeous music provided simply by her mother and guitar. My favorite part was The Dress. Gorgeous, flattering, and classic. The bubbles were fun too. I'm not always a fan of using them for an exit, but Jess set out bubbles for everyone to blow as the party went on, which felt sweet and lighthearted. Check out her hotness.
You must pay the rent!
I usually leave this section of my site for fun things I've seen in OTHER weddings...cute hair, shoes, etc. But I had to post this link to pics of my wedding. My husband sports a mustache most of the time - somewhat serious, somewhat ironic. He asked his groomsmen to grow mustaches for our wedding on May 1st at Star Hill Ranch in Austin, TX. Those that couldn't grow them wore adhesive mustaches. I thought adhesive mustaches would make a fun (and cheap) favor for the guests. Everyone loved them, and they were the perfect icebreaker for our joining families. Thanks to WhitneyLee Photography for all their hard work. It wasn't easy to wrangle our bunch, but they did it beautifully.
Litle girls, Little girls...
Etsy’s Tutu Cute BabyThese flower girl tutu dresses come from Etsy's TuTu Cute Baby are completely adorable. I think flower girls are my favorite thing about weddings....with the exception of champagne. Flower girls may be the only people in the wedding having more fun and feeling more like a princess than the bride. Thanks Green Wedding Shoes.
